Look Your Very Best While Appearing For Pictures

Look Your Best While Posing For Pictures

Learn about great techniques for posing for the perfect picture. Find out which poses make you slimmer, reduce appearances of a double chin and flatter you at every angle.

Instructions

1. Smile authentically. A sincere smile will generally render the most flattering and beautiful result. As your picture is being taken, try visualizing something that makes you happy. A forced smile is rarely flattering so think about something that makes you laugh or that warms your heart.

2. Don't allow your photographer to photograph you from below. If the person taking your picture is crouching down low to capture your picture, back up at least 4 feet. Being photographed from below can add pounds to your pictures and leave you with an unflattering photograph. The best positions for your photographer to be in is from above or shooting you straight on. You will appear sleeker and leaner when the photo is taken from these standard positions.

3. Twist your hips so that one side of your body is completely facing your photographer. This twisted pose will make you look leaner and elongate your body. Your shoulders should also be twisted in opposite directions to achieve the most flattering picture-perfect pose.

4. Get rid of double chin appearance by slightly positioning your chin forward and tilting it slightly down. A double chin can show up on even the thinnest people in pictures, so be cautious and aware of your chin placement.

5. Consider your props. Realize that taking a picture holding a beer or alcoholic beverage can give you the appearance of a college party animal. This may not be the appearance you are aiming for, so evaluate the items you are holding or posing near. Never choose props that can steal attention away from you if attention is what you are aiming for.
