Clean Cutting Mats

Cutting mats are a must-have for serious crafters, photographers and designers. These handy mats serve two purposes. The are not only used to protect your furniture from damage when sewing and doing craft projects, but they're also a helpful measurement tool. Cutting mats are typically made of three-ply vinyl or rubber and are extremely durable. Although cutting mats are resilient and known as "self-healing," cleaning a cutting mat properly can help determine how well it performs and how long it will last.

Instructions

1. Use a lint brush or roller after every use of your cutting mat to pick up small papers, crumbs and debris.

2. Use baby wipes to remove minor dirt and stains from your cutting mat. Baby wipes can be used often to keep your mat free of general dirt and buildup.

3. Spray a small amount of all-purpose spray cleaner on your cutting mat and wipe it with a clean cloth or rag.

4. Wet a clean cloth or rag with warm water and put a few drops of mild liquid detergent on the rag. Gently clean the mat to remove glue and other stuck-on stains.
