Contaminant Removal

Smoking puts dangerous toxins in your body.

Toxins in the body are linked to many health problems such as digestive and skin disorders; they are also directly linked to many cancers. The body naturally removes these toxin through the intestine, liver, kidneys, lungs and skin. When the body becomes overloaded with toxins, it begins to carry them in the blood and store them in fatty tissue. Large amounts of toxins will can lead to serious health concerns. A healthy lifestyle and diet will reduce toxins in your system and lead to better well-being.

Instructions

1. Drink a minimum eight glasses of water each day. Drinking water has many benefit. Water promotes weight loss, a healthy heart, and higher energy. The body uses water to flush out toxins and waste products that build up and lead to poor health. Drinking the recommended amount of water reduces your risk of colon and bladder cancer by nearly 50 percent. Because water is a major part of getting toxins out of the body, make it a habit to drink water from the time you wake up, with every meal and before bed; if you wait until you are thirsty, you are already dehydrated.

2. Adjust your diet. Changing your diet will help the body better eliminate toxins from your system. A diet of fruits and vegetables will lower the toxin levels in your body. Consume more fibrous foods such as bran cereal and brown rice. Eat items high in vitamin C. Vitamin C helps stimulate the liver to better remove toxins. Add foods high in antioxidants to your diet. Many green vegetables are high in antioxidants as are berries. Stay away from processed foods that contain large amounts of refined sugars and saturated fats.

3. Eliminate tobacco and alcohol. Alcohol and tobacco add toxins to the body in mass amounts and continuing to use them will be counterproductive to any detox effort.

4. Avoid household chemicals and pesticides; they contain harmful chemicals that enter the body through the air or consumption of food that has come in contact with them. Wash all fresh produce thoroughly before eating it. Replace your household chemicals with natural cleaners, such as a mixture of vinegar, water and lemon juice.

5. Fast for a day each month. Fasting is a abstaining from food for a period of time and consuming only water, protein shakes and juices. Fasting allows the body to remove toxins from the intestine without adding more of a workload to the organs.
