Draw Physiques With Expensive 8

Drawing programs can help you make smoother, cleaner lines.

Whether you want to animate an action scene or just do a 2-D drawing, Flash is a fantastic tool for any kind of artist. It can be tricky to use, but in order to make a basic drawing you'll only need a few tools. Just like drawing a body, it's good to start with a base and work your way up from there. Once you've mastered the basics, you'll be able to move on to more complicated endeavors.

Instructions

1. Open Flash and choose "document." A new document with various resources will open. The area you will be drawing in is known as the "stage."

2. Use either the pencil or pen tool to draw your "action line." The action line is a single line about the length of the body. It is often used to dictate the direction in which a picture will flow.

3. Draw a circle for the head, with a triangle point-down beneath it. The shape of the triangle will determine whether your drawing is male or female. A shorter, rounder triangle determines a female body, while a broader triangle denotes a male frame.

4. Draw another circle at the point of the triangle to represent the hips and waist. This circle should be about as broad as the top part of the triangle.

5. Sketch out two lines for the legs, coming from each side of the middle circle. One of the legs should fall on the bottom of the action line, as that denotes where the character is resting its weight.

6. Draw the lines of the arms, placed from the top corners of the triangle. Pose them however you like.

7. Make another layer, either by clicking on the "New Layer" button in the lower left-hand corner, or selecting "Insert," "Timeline" and "Layer" from the drop-down menu.

8. Use your shapes--known as your skeleton--to flesh out your drawing on the new layer. Draw the head from the top circle, the shoulders and torso from the triangle. The shoulders will be proportionate to the hips and the waist will slope inward from the ribs.

9. Lock your layer by clicking on the lock icon, and go back to your sketch layer. Delete the sketch so only your line art is showing on the stage.
