Fresh paint An Abstract Painting With Acrylics

Abstract art is intended to evoke an emotion rather than offer a representation of an object.

Abstract art is art that is not an exact representation of something. Though there may not be a defined object, there is an element of design and movement that pulls the eye of the viewer through the painting. The abstract design may evoke an emotion or feeling such as joy, sadness, or loneliness. You can paint an abstract painting with acrylic paint.

Instructions

1. Draw some design ideas with paper and pencil. Combine the ideas you like best into a final design plan for your painting.

2. Choose the colors you will need. If you have a solid background color, paint it first. Remember to add water to your brush or spritz the surface with a spray bottle if the paint dries too fast. Allow the background to dry.

3. Pencil in any detailed or complicated aspects of the design on the dry background.

4. Mix your colors on your palette as you need them and begin to fill in your design area. You can use masking tape to block paint from some areas if needed. Remove the masking tape before the paint is dry.

5. Splatter, pour, or even spread paint on thickly with a knife according to your design and how you want the finished work to look. For texture, you can paint over a mesh produce bag or use household objects such as a fork to imprint on or drag across the paint. Use thin and thick line segments to make a crosshatch design, or embed string in the wet paint and remove it a few seconds later, leaving its curvy imprint. Experiment until you are satisfied with your painting.

6. Sign your painting at the bottom and allow it to dry completely.
