A sandblaster works faster than manual sanding.
The Craftsman Sandblaster is a power tool used to blast sand or rust from various surfaces in preparation for repainting. Blasting paint and rust away with a sandblaster works more quickly than using sandpaper, but is much more dangerous. Make sure to take the proper precautions when using this tool.
Instructions
1. Put on a helmet, eye goggles, a dust mask, a long-sleeve work shirt, long work pants and work shoes for protection. Put in ear plugs to protect your hearing, as the sandblaster has a high noise level.
2. Drain the air compressor.
3. Lubricate the air compressor's hose attachment.
4. Tightly attach a hose to the air compressor. Use a 3/8-inch hose for lengths 8 feet or shorter. Use a ½-inch hose for longer lengths.
5. Run air through the air hose for 5 to 10 seconds to clear out dirt and moisture. Turn off the air and connect the air hose to the sandblaster.
6. Turn the air on again. Point the sandblaster at your target area and pull the trigger to direct the sand blast. Hold down the trigger and direct the sandblaster evenly over your target area to blast off paint and rust.
7. Turn off the air line and disconnect the hose when you are done using the tool.
