Perform The Demon Dice Trick

Do the Devil Dice Trick

Perform this trick successfully and you fool people into thinking you are a mind reader, a genius mathematician or that you have been gambling with the devil. Here's how it's done.

Instructions

1. Give a member of your audience two dice and tell them to roll a few times to make sure the dice are an ordinary pair.

2. Turn your back once they're satisfied. Ask them to roll the dice again, and then put one die on top of the other.

3. Turn around quickly to "check" that the dice are properly stacked, but sneak a look at the number on top of the top die.

4. Turn back around and write a number on a piece of paper. The number you write should be the number you observed on the top of the die, subtracted from 14. The two opposite faces of a die always add up to be 7. Multiplied by two, the total for the 4 sides is 14. Subtracting the number for the top die gives you the total for the other three sides.

5. Ask your participant to pick up the die and have them silently add the numbers from the bottom of the top die, the top of the second die and the bottom of the second die. Tell them to keep the sum of those three sides in mind.

6. Turn around when they have announced that they have the number ready, and hand them the piece of paper. Your number and theirs will be the same.
