Stylish Hop Dance Exercise

The great thing about hip-hop dancing is its high energy and constant movement. This means that if you want to have a good time getting in shape, hip-hop is the genre for you. Exercising can easily become mundane and seemingly futile. Going to the gym day after day gets old real quick. The integration of hip-hop dancing and exercise makes working out exciting. Exercising with dance moves does not seem like working out at all. It's more like doing what you love while toning your body.

Integrating Dancing and Exercise

Find hip-hop music artists that you enjoy listening to. Make sure that the music is upbeat with high energy. Search for artists who implement dance routines into their songs, so that you can integrate the moves into your exercise. Some good artists to choose are: Ciara, Soulja Boy, Cupid or Missy Elliott. The music choice is crucial because it creates the atmosphere. Of course, you don't want some slow-tempo, low-energy song that doesn't get you pumped.

Prepare to move around a great deal. Hip-hop dances consume a great deal of energy alone, so just imagine evolving them to exercises. Work your midsection, legs and arms by doing the following dance: Extend your arms in front your body at shoulder length. Bend your knees while caving your chest in and arching your back. Immediately, push your chest out while bringing your arms to your chest. This dance is especially good for the midsection but works the entire body.

Dance Strategy

Try turning a popular hip-hop dance into an exercise. Choose a dance routine that is suitable for you. Artists like Ciara perform difficult moves. Start with an easy dance like Cupid's "Cupid Shuffle." This dance is simple and easy to learn. The instructions to the dance are in the song, so you can't go wrong with that. It is conducive to exercise because it works the entire body. Perform the dance at least twice back to back to get yourself sweating. This dance requires constant movement, so prepare to breathe. Tweak the dance by adding your own exercise moves while you dance. While you do the steps to the left, hold your arms out to the side and move them in a circular motion. Dip as low as possible when you hear the "now dip" lyrics. Maximize the workout by pushing yourself.
