Storyboard artists are commissioned to create both rough sketches for publication and highly-detailed finished pieces of art for presentations, and it is essential to showcase both talents in your portfolio. The portfolio is an artist's visual resume to pick up when a written resume can no longer describe your achievements. Your portfolio should represent your professionalism as an artist, but your presentation and art does not need to be without personality.
Instructions
1. Select your portfolio case. Choose a professional case that resists bending or tearing.
2. Add pieces of your artwork to your portfolio. Choose 10 to 20 cohesive pieces (either the same medium or similar theme) geared toward your prospective job.
3. Organize your selected pieces. Place your best pieces in the front and the back of your portfolio.
4. Label all your artwork with your client's name, any art directors or collaborators on the project, date of completion, and who and what any copyright may currently belong to.
5. Update your portfolio before each new interview (and style your portfolio toward that of the interviewer), whenever you've been reviewed or received an award, and when you've completed a new project.
