Help your
kids make beautiful mosaics at home.
Looking for a fun and easy craft to keep your kids entertained after school or on a rainy day? Paper mosaics may be the answer. Not only is this recycled craft a great way to help the environment by reducing waste, but the level of complexity is completely adaptable based on the child's age. Help your children create a beautiful piece of art, place mats or even colorful handmade note cards.
Instructions
1. Decide what you want your mosaic to look like. If you're making a free-form design, simply cut out or paper-punch out several different shapes and see where your creativity takes you. If you have a specific idea for a design, cut out shapes to suit your idea. For example, for a flower paper mosaic, cut stems, leaves and flower parts from paper with different colors, designs and textures. Mix solid colors with colorful prints for a diverse effect.
2. Begin gluing the tiles to the black paper or note cards with a glue stick.
3. Leave some space between tiles so that the black paper remains visible. This creates the mosaic effect. The design can be as simple or as intricate as you'd like. Just add a small design or fill the whole piece of paper.
4. Set your paper mosaic project aside to dry overnight and enjoy the finished results.
