Produce A Voicemail Making Use Of Your Computer

Create a Voice Mail Using Your Computer

Leaving voice mail messages, through an online calling service provider, is an excellent alternative if you cannot use a phone or in the event of an emergency. Fortunately, creating voice mail messages using your computer only requires setting up an account with an online calling service provider. You can even create these voice mails from your computer for free, depending on which service you choose.

Instructions

1. Create a new account with an online calling service provider, such as Skype or Google Voice. Google Voice is free to sign up for and use. However, you will need to pay for airtime if you use Google Voice to place calls without connecting to existing telephone service. Skype always requires that you pay for airtime. While some land line phone companies provide online calling, they do not provide access through the computer.

2. Select a new phone number with the online calling service provider. Choose from a list of available telephone numbers from which you can make and receive online calls.

3. Connect your online number to an existing cell phone or landline if possible. Google Voice allows you to dial from the computer using its online interface but will place the call through your existing phone service. This allows you to place calls without incurring additional costs.

4. Purchase airtime from the online calling service provider if you must depend on it for an outgoing line. This may be the case if you do not have a land line or cell phone to which you can route the number.

5. Call the telephone number associated with the voice mail on which you will leave a message.

6. Create your voice mail message as you normally would on a cell phone or land line. Use the digital keypad associated with your online calling service interface to execute any necessary touch-tone functions.
