Vidal Sassoon Heat Brush Curler Instructions

The Vidal Sassoon Hot Air Brush Curler is a multifunctioning styling tool that straightens and curls hair. It was designed and developed by Vidal Sassoon, the famous hair dresser and stylist. The barrel of the curler is 1 1/2 inches and comes with flexible, removable bristles to help smooth out tangles. The barrel also rotates easily to prevent hair from becoming ensnarled and caught between the bristles. The tool has two temperature settings: high and low.

Prepping Your Hair

Before using the Vidal Sassoon Hot Air Brush Curler, it is best to prepare your hair. Shampoo and condition your hair as usual. You can let your hair air dry, or you can style it while wet. The curler has built-in heat vents that will dry your hair while simultaneously straightening or curling it. However, avoid using it on soaking wet hair. Towel dry your hair slightly before styling it. For best results, separate your hair into three sections to make it easier to style each strand. Place the heat setting on high if you have thick, coarse hair and low if you have fine, thin hair.

Curling

To curl your hair, remove the bristle brush by unscrewing the tip of the curler. Wrap an inch-wide strand of hair around the smooth base of the curler. Press the lock button located on the side to keep the barrel from spinning so you can roll up the curl; press the unlock button to release the curl. Hold the curl in the locked position for about 10 to 15 seconds before releasing. Continue until all the strands you want to curl are styled. Do not comb or brush your hair after it has been curled. Instead, separate and define the strands using your fingers.

Straightening

To straighten your hair, use the curler as you would use a blow dryer and a round bristle brush. Instead of using both hands to hold the brush and blow dryer, you only use one hand to expertly straighten hair strands with the Vidal Sassoon Hot Air Brush Curler. The bristles must be intact for this to work, so do not remove them. Starting from as close to the root of your hair as possible (be careful not to burn your scalp), slowly move the curler down an inch-wide section of hair. Press the unlock button to allow the barrel to rotate. Continue with each individual strand until all your hair has been straightened. Apply hair spray to hold the style in place.
