Change Outlook Contacts And Kind An Order

Change the sort order for your Outlook contacts.

Your Outlook email client provides you with the ability to view each contact configured in the software. The Outlook software has several options when configuring the sort order for your contacts. This is beneficial when you are searching for a particular contact either by first name, last name, company or location. The sort order can be changed according to your organizational needs.

Instructions

Change Sort Order

1. Open your Outlook software. Click the "Contact" toolbar button at the top of your Outlook email window. This opens a new window.

2. Click the "View" menu item. In the list of options, click "Arrange By." Select "Current View" and then click "Customize Current View." In this window, click the "Sort" button to open a new window.

3. Select the order in which you want to display your contact list in the drop-down box labeled "Sort Items By." Select "Ascending" or "Descending."

4. Click "OK" to save your settings. Click "OK" again in the main properties window. Your contacts are sorted using the configurations that you selected.
