Go To The Westchester Broadway Dinner Theater

The Westchester Broadway Theater has been a cultural mainstay in the tri-state area since 1974. The only year-round theater in New York's Westchester county, this is where Broadway performers and designers gather to create the best in musical theater. Serving both lunch and dinner, this theater experience provides quality dining and Broadway-caliber performances in a venue that's far from the hustle and bustle of New York City.

Instructions

1. Figure out the easiest way to get to the theater. Located in Elmsford, New York, it is about an hour north of the Big Apple, and can be easily accessed via many of New York's main highways. If using MapQuest or a GPS, the address to plug in would be1 Broadway Plaza, Elmsford, NY 10523.

2. Visit the website to see what musicals are being offered each year. Typically there are 4 to 5 main musicals shown every year. Options often include "Kiss Me, Kate" (the theater's first main stage production), "42nd Street," "Grease," "My Fair Lady," "Gypsy" and hundreds of other well-loved musicals (see Resources below).

3. Check also on the website to see what special one-night events are offered throughout the year. Special events are shown periodically on the nights the theater is "dark." These special event nights include tributes to music legends like Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra, as well as stand-up comedy performances, orchestral performances and holiday-themed events such as "Spooktacular: An Evening of Illusion."

4. Download the various menus to help you decide whether to attend a matinee or evening performance. There are three main menus: weekday matinee, weekend matinee and evening performances. Various chicken and fish dishes are offered for each, and there's always a vegetarian option.

5. Look into the Luxury Box option. Your entire party could dine at one table in a separate elevated box, with access to an enhanced menu that includes hot and cold hors d'ouevres. Other Luxury Box amenities include a personal restroom, personal coat closet and special reserved parking. In addition, special occasion cakes and room decorations are also available (for an additional fee). When booking your reservation for a Luxury Box, call (914) 592-8730.

6. Book your reservation. This can be done either online at the website or by calling the box office at (914) 592-2222. The main box office is open every day at 10 a.m., and the group sales box office, which can be reached at (914) 592-2225, is open Monday through Friday at 10 a.m.

7. Be sure to arrive at least 45 minutes prior to the beginning of the show. Guests are able to arrive up to 1 hour and 45 minutes before show time to allow more than ample time to enjoy their meal. There is no food service during the show, but the wait staff will ask if you'd like a beverage delivered to your table during intermission (this order will be taken prior to the beginning of the show).

8. Remember your theater etiquette. Turn off all cell phones and beepers during the performance, and keep the aisles clear, as much of the action can take place in the aisles during show time. It is requested that Infants and children under 5 do not attend, and all other children should demonstrate proper theater manners.
