Schools Of Carrying out Arts & Drama

Performing arts schools enhance stage performance in drama, music and dance.


Schools for performing arts and drama are offered throughout the United States. Academic achievements in performing arts and drama include a Bachelor's in Fine Arts, Bachelor's in Music, and a Diploma in Fine Arts. Many schools specializing in performance require an application process that includes auditions. Some schools offer shorter programs with the option to continue higher studies through university transfer. Other schools offer extracurricular programs to a broad range of students from young children to adults.


The Julliard School


The Julliard School offers dance, drama and music. It is located in New York City, New York. The Dance Division provides a four year undergraduate study resulting in a Bachelor's of Fine Arts with completion of a 24 credit Liberal Arts program or a Diploma without Liberal Arts completion. The Drama Division is a four year professional program resulting in a Bachelor's of Fine Arts or Diploma, also decided on Liberal Arts completion. The Music Division provides a four year undergraduate study resulting in a Bachelor's of Music. A Doctor of Musical Arts degree, Master of Music degree and Graduate Diploma are alternative options in the Music Division.


The Theatre School


The Theatre School is located in Chicago, Illinois. The school offers both a Bachelor's and Master's of Fine Arts. The Bachelor's is a four year professional training program. The program is a progression based program enriching skills as the program continues. Master's of Fine Arts degrees are available for acting, directing and leadership. The directing and acting courses are three year programs based on progression. Acceptance into the school requires completion of extensive interviews and auditions.


The American Academy of Dramatic Arts


The American Academy of Dramatic Arts is located in New York City, New York and Los Angeles, California. This school is an acting school that provides an Associate's in Occupational studies after a two year program. The three year program provides a Certificate in Advanced Studies in Acting. Student's seeking a Bachelor's degree and beyond have the option to transfer to universities across the country to further their studies.


Franklin School for the Performing Arts


Franklin School for the Performing Arts is located in Franklin, Massachusetts. Franklin offers music, dance and drama classes to all ages and abilities. The extracurricular program produces community performances through student involvement. Music is taught through individual training or group lessons. Students as young as 18 months are eligible for lessons. Dance instruction is provided to boy and girl children, teens and adults. Instruction is provided on professional or recreational levels. Drama instruction is provided with many performance opportunities.
