France's most notorious queen, Marie Antoinette, is remembered for her extravagance and, of course, the famous phrase, "Let them eat cake." Kirsten Dunst brought Marie Antoinette back to life in 2006 when she portrayed the queen on the big screen for the film bearing the female monarch's name. The movie's stunning costumes and makeup have sparked a revolution of interest in Ms. Antoinette, and you too can recreate her look with makeup.
Instructions
1. Create a pale base for your face with light foundation. Dust with a powder to set, such as baby powder for a whiter-than-white look, or MAC makeup's Iridescent Powder in Delicacy for a more sheer look.
2. Dust a light pink blush such as MAC makeup's Powder Blush in Dollymix over the apples of your cheeks. Be sure to blend the blush generously to avoid a sharp "racing stripe" look.
3. Keep eyebrows light. Marie Antoinette's eyebrows didn't have a lot of definition; instead, the focus of her face is on her alabaster complexion.
4. Stick tiny crystal eye jewels along your top eyelids and top off with lush, false eyelashes for added drama.
5. Draw a tiny beauty mark on the upper cheekbone, near the outer corner of your eye, with liquid eyeliner.
6. Paint your lips with a stain such as Napoleon Perdis' Satin Lips gloss lipstick in Lucinda, Christiana or Angelene. Keep the edges soft and don't use a lip liner.
7. Get glittery by sprinkling some sparkling loose glitter over your hair, cheekbones and chest.
