Produce A Awesome Flyer

Give your event an interesting name on a flyer.

Having the right flyer can make or break an event. If you post flyers around town or your school about an event that everyone is welcome to join, but the flyer looks boring or too plain, those seeing it may think the event is boring and may not attend. Although flyers are an inexpensive way to advertise, they are a waste if they do not get you the results you want. A cool flyer attracts attention, gains interest and can help make any event successful.

Instructions

1. Pick out the paper. If you are going to be making color copies of your flyer, it is best to use white or a lightly colored paper. Otherwise, for black and white copies, use a piece of colored paper that matches the occasion. For example, if you are advertising a Christmas rock concert, use red or green paper.

2. Write the title or name of the event on the flyer in a big, legible font. The name of the event should be something that sounds interesting. For example, if you are advertising a Halloween party with fun, gross activities for teenagers, call it a "Vomitorium." The font used for the title of the poster should appeal to your target audience and stand out by using shadow or outlining effects on a word processor. For example, senior citizens may find the Papyrus font more appealing than the Comic Sans font.

3. Include information on the flyer. When you advertise an event, let the reader know the date, time, place, cost, contact information and other details on the flyer. If you are highlighting a product in a store with a flyer, let the customer know about its key features and separate each quality with a bullet point.

4. Add graphics. The typography and the graphics are what standout to people the most when they glance at a poster. Use a cool-looking, relevant graphics on your poster to catch people's attention. If you are advertising a zombie movie marathon at an old theater, for example, use the image of zombies walking around or a picture of a zombie's face close-up. When including graphics in a flyer, make sure they are age appropriate, not blurry and legally okay to use under copyright laws.

5. Do not clutter the flyer. Using too many graphics and unnecessary words will make a flyer look too busy and unattractive. A cool flyer uses no more than two different fonts and does not need more than one or two graphics in the upper half of the flyer.
