Being charismatic and charming is something that some people are just lucky enough to be born with. It just comes easy to some people, like our current president Barack Obama. Although some people are born with more charismatic talent than others, we can look at what characteristics gets people to like you, and you can practice that.
Instructions
1. Listen to what people have to say. Drawing people to you is sometimes as simple as listening to people talk. As humans we have a desire to talk. Be open and curious about what they have to say. If someone says something that you don't agree with, you don't necessarily have to tell them that. If you do, do it with a smile and maybe a smirk.
2. Smile more often. Charismatic people have been shown to smile more than others. It is easier to be with someone who is happy and optimistic than with someone who is pessimistic.
3. Be self confident and outgoing. If you are closed off to someone, you will have trouble forming a bond with them. Obviously, introverts will have trouble with this but it just takes some practice. If there's a conversation going on, smile and be involved in it, not looking in the other direction.
4. Don't be overbearing. People don't want to be around someone who is controlling and close minded. Sometimes it's best to just sit back, smile and go with the flow. Be assertive if the decision needs to be made, but otherwise just accept it.
5. Care about yourself but care about others more. In the end, being good to people will get noticed and more people will like you. Charismatic people, and politicians for that matter are willing to stick their leg out for someone with a good attitude.
6. Practice your social skills. A great time to do this is when you meet new people. At a party, see how long it takes you to get into a good conversation with someone. Being charismatic and getting people to like you boils down to having good social skills and openness.
