There are many grants available for women artists.
Artists often require funding in order to purchase supplies or promote finished artwork. There are a number of financial assistance grants available for female artists who want to stage plays and performances or showcase visual artwork.
Creative Capital
Creative Capital offers funding to women involved in theater arts. Women can receive up to $20,000 for travel, research and design of theater projects. Creative Capital also offers grants for new women playwrights to observe established plays or work with a mentor in order to learn the craft. Creative Capital offers assistance for filmmakers as well as playwrights and directors.

USArtists International
USArtists International provides funding to nonprofit U.S. organizations that provide festivals that include theater, dancing or other art in international locations. Women's groups that provide artistic experiences for women in other countries would be eligible for this grant. Funding is not available for individual artists. Eligible groups must have representatives in at least two countries outside of the United States.

Change, Inc.
Change, Inc. provides emergency grants of up to $1,000 to women artists who are struggling to pay bills or other living expenses. Applicants must demonstrate financial need and be established in their artistic careers. The application process includes turning in copies of bills or other expenses and an artistic resume and clips or tear sheets. Emergency funds will be granted only once per applicant.
