Make Tree Ornaments With Hard Chocolate & Cookie Conforms

If you have leftover hard candy from early holiday celebrations, turn it into unique, tasty tree ornaments with cookie molds. When finished, you will have a set of "stained glass" ornaments for hanging on your Christmas tree.

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

2. Cover your baking sheet with a piece of parchment paper, cut to fit the pan.

3. Arrange the metal cookie cutters on top of the parchment paper.

4. Spray an even coating of cooking spray on the insides of all of the cookie cutters.

5. Fill the bottom of each cookie cutter with the hard candies. Place the candies in a single layer without overlapping for best results.

6. Set the baking pan into the oven and bake for 5 to 7 minutes, or until the candies have completely melted and covered the inside of the cookie cutters with an even layer of molten candy.

7. Leave the ornaments in the cookie cutters for 2 to 3 minutes to cool.

8. Insert a dowel or chopstick ½ inch from the top of each cookie cutter to punch out a hole for the hanging ribbon, but leave the ornaments in place.

9. Let the ornaments cool completely--15 to 30 minutes--before pulling off the cookie cutters.

10. Tie an 8-inch length of ribbon into a loop through the hole at the top of each ornament and hang from your tree.
