Vegas Shows

Las Vegas shows are one of the biggest entertainment options other than gambling for Las Vegas visitors. These Las Vegas shows include famous performers such as The Blue Man Group, magician Lance Burton and various singers. The variety of shows is large and allows seemingly every visitor to find a show for him if he researches the offerings.

Types

There are many types of shows in Las Vegas. These include comedy, magic and musical performances. Many shows combine all three of these subjects. Las Vegas shows include standard performers who play at a specific casino or hotel much of the year. There are also shows for famous national performers who include Las Vegas on their tour schedules. Shows also vary in cost.

Time Frame

Most Las Vegas shows are in the evening, usually not starting until at least 7 p.m. Most shows have several shows each evening. This allows a large number of visitors to see the same show, and also allows visitors to be a little flexible when scheduling the performance they wish to see.

Features

Las Vegas shows can best be described as "going over the top." This means that a show can have fancy costumes, special effects or special features that guests will not see at a show elsewhere. Most Las Vegas shows have two or three segments with intermissions in between each segment. This allows guests to purchase snacks or use a restroom without missing any of the show.

Size

Some shows such as the Cirque Du Soleil productions in Las Vegas can include close to 200 performers in a single show. Others, such as singers or musicians, perform alone. The size of the audience varies as well. If you are planning on attending a Las Vegas show, do some research on how many guests can attend a single show. A limited audience might mean booking tickets well before before visitors arrive in Las Vegas.

Misconceptions

One type of Las Vegas show that is subject to the biggest misconceptions is the "Review Shows," which include nudity. Many people who have not seen these have the impression that they are just a larger scale version of a local strip club with a little more class. In reality, the nudity is relatively limited. It is usually only partial nudity, and the costumes the performers wear and the dancing is more of the focus of the show than the nudity is. The easiest way to describe the nudity in a Las Vegas review show is as a supporting piece of the show itself.

For those who wish to find more emphasis on nudity, Las Vegas has strip clubs, but be warned that those clubs can be in some of the rougher areas of town.
