Directions On Creating A Square Pyramid

Make a pyramid diorama.

Many children and adults enjoy making crafts from paper and cardboard. Not only are many of these crafts functional or pretty, but they also use recyclable materials. Recycling these materials provides afternoon and evening entertainment.

One of the easiest crafts to make from paper or cardboard is the square pyramid, a pyramid with a square bottom and four triangular sides. These pyramids take very little time to make and have endless variations. You could make many pyramids and make a Giza diorama. You could also leave one side of your pyramid open and decorate the inside with paint and small furniture.

Instructions

1. Use a ruler to draw a perfect square in the center of your paper or cardboard. Draw a triangle on each side of your square half as long as the square is wide. For example, if your square is 10 inches wide, all of your triangles should be 5 inches long from the center of the base to the top point.

2. Cut out this new shape along the outside lines of the triangles. Do not cut the triangles and square apart. Gently fold each triangle up along the line where it connects to the square.

3. Push all four triangles in toward the center of the square until their top points meet. Drip some glue on your finger and rub it along the sides of the triangles, then press gently to secure them to each other.
