Make Black And Blue Bruises With Makeup

Emulate a real bruise with eyeshadow.

Creating bruises with makeup can be a handy skill for Halloween, a school play, or for a costume party or other event where you need to add some creepiness to your look. If have some dark-colored eyeshadows on hand, you may not even need to spend any money to make your face or body look like it's been roughed-up a bit. Using makeup can be cheaper and less irritating to your skin than Halloween face paint, especially for children.

Instructions

1. Brush blue eyeshadow in the center of where you want your bruise. Bruises tend to be darker in the middle and get lighter at the outer edges. Don't make the bruise a perfect circle; bruises are often irregularly shaped.

2. Dab some spots of gray or black eyeshadow on and around the blue eyeshadow. Smudge the colors together with your fingers to blend them in a bit.

3. Line the outside of the bruise with a light green or yellow eyeshadow to look like the edges of the bruise, which turn lighter colors as they heal.

4. Smudge the whole bruise with your fingers to make it look more natural.

5. Dab a lip brush into a tube of red lipstick, and add a little red to the center of the bruise to make it look especially nasty and fresh.
