Posting a video to YouTube is a great way to share vacations, hobbies and special events. Videos can be created in several ways and edited before posting to YouTube. Once a video is created the following are a few steps necessary to getting the video onto YouTube.
Instructions
1. Create the video using a video camera or the movie function on a digital still camera.
2. Edit the movie with a video editing software. There are many video editing programs available. At this stage, you can add titles, special effects or a soundtrack.
3. Join YouTube. If you have not already joined, you have to set up an account on YouTube. This only takes a few minutes. Establish a profile and create a design for your YouTube site.
4. Click on the upload video link. The video upload page contains several text boxes. Give the video a title and fill out the description and keyword tags. The keywords help others search for your video.
5. Set the broadcast date and sharing options. The sharing options are very important as they let viewers comment, rate and embed your video.
6. Click on the "upload a video" button. This button takes you to a page that begins the actual upload to the YouTube website. Locate the video and wait until it has finished uploading.
7. Edit the parameters after the video is uploaded. The default image and video information can all be edited once the video has been posted.
