Child wearing ninja mask and costume
Ninja outfits are supposed to reveal almost no skin on the ninja, and so, accordingly, a ninja mask is made out of flexible material that covers the portion of the face below the eyes, and the portion of the head above the eyes. Ninja masks cover the entire head, like ski masks. Ninja masks are relatively easy to draw because they keep the general shape of the head but reveal none of the features of the face (except for the eyes).
Instructions
1. Draw the shape of the head as it would appear under the mask. The head is usually shaped like an upside down egg--with the pointed area on bottom and the rounded area on top.
2. Draw a line just across the middle of the head, from one side to the other, curved upwards like a mellow smile.
3. Draw a second line over the first line, curving downwards like a sad face. Each end of the line will touch the ends of the line you drew in step 2, so together these two lines will make a shape like a seed on its side, across the face. This is the opening of the mask for the eyes.
4. Shade the area of the face outside the hole for the eyes--this includes the area above the seed shape and below the seed shape. This shaded area is the mask.
5. Draw two eyes in the center of the seed shape, by drawing two dots, one on each side. The nose and mouth will be hidden under the ninja mask--all you will see over the area of the nose and mouth will be cloth.
6. Color the ninja mask black or a very dark red. The skin tone of the ninja may be whatever skin tone you wish.
