It is possible to create a student ID card at home.
A student ID card not only identifies your child's enrollment in school, it also gives her access to benefits and discounts specifically tailored for students. If your child's school does not issue ID cards, you can still provide her with a card using common electronic devices and identity software. After your child has a student ID card, she can present it to authorities if she needs to be off campus during school hours to perform a task.
Instructions
1. Launch the identity card application on your computer. Pictures Plus School ID Card Software, Identity Card Making Software and Easy Card Creator are examples of identity card software that you can use to create the student ID card. Although each application is created by a different software company, they all employ a similar process to create an ID card. The application automatically displays the ID card template after you open it.
2. Type the name of the school and your child's full name, address, grade and any other relevant information in the applicable text boxes.
3. Click the empty box on the template reserved for your child's picture. Click the "Browse" button on the pop-up window that opens and navigate to the picture of your child that you want to use.
4. Load the card stock in your printer and click the "Print" icon on the menu bar to print the student ID card.
5. Cut out the student ID card from the rest of the card stock with a pair of scissors.
6. Turn on the laminating machine and place the student ID card into an appropriately sized laminating pouch. Place the item into the laminating machine to seal it. If necessary, cut off any excess laminating paper from the ID card.
