One task that is often necessary for the person who administers a computer used by several household members is blocking access to websites that display questionable content or, perhaps, keep children away from their homework for too long. The Opera web browser provides the ability to block a URL through its content blocking system. Block access to a URL in Opera if you do not want a particular website to be accessed.
Instructions
1. Launch Opera and browse to the website that you would like to block. Right-click in an open area of the page and click "Block Content." Alternatively, click the "Tools" menu at the top of the screen, then click "Advanced" and "Blocked Content."
2. Click the "Add" button. A new line of text beginning with "http://" will appear.
3. Complete the line of text by typing the full name of the website, for example, "http://www.example.com."
4. Click "Close." It will no longer be possible to browse to the website that you entered using Opera.
