Draw A Beauty Salon Poster

Display images of beautiful haircuts to attract customers.

Hair salons and beauty parlors typically place posters in their windows. These posters, displaying images of men and women with beautiful haircuts and bright hair color, serve as a method of advertising a salon's services. If you wish to stand out from the competition, create a homemade poster instead of relying on commercial poster options. To attract extra customers, advertise your salon's good deals or special services on the salon poster.

Instructions

1. Examine your salon's current posters or the posters of a nearby salon. Do the posters display models with brilliantly dyed hair? Do the posters advertise excellent bargains?

2. List your salon's advertising needs. Advertising helps inform the public of special services your salon offers or the reasons why your salon is superior to competitors. Possible items to advertise include advertising unique services, inexpensive haircuts, stylists with excellent training and high-quality hair dye.

3. Design your poster on a piece of scrap paper. On the top of the poster, write the name of your hair salon. On the bottom of the poster, write the message you wish to convey. For example, write "Free Shampoo with Every Haircut," or "Haircuts from Certified Beauticians." In the middle of the poster, draw a sketch of the image you wish to include. The image should display a woman with a beautiful haircut.

4. Write the words on the poster with a marker or pen. Color the words with a hue that stands out without looking garish. Possible color options include black, pink, red, blue and light purple. If you are unsure of the appropriate color, use black.

5. Draw the outline of woman in the middle of the poster. Draw an oval shape, and connect it to a rectangular neck. At the end of the neck, add diagonal lines to represent the shoulders.

6. Add details to the woman. In the middle of the oval, draw two almond-shaped eyes. Under the eye, draw a diagonal line that extends downward. Connect it to the nose. Draw a short, vertical line that extends toward the center of the face. Under the nose, draw the shape of lips to represent the mouth.

7. Draw the haircut. Place your pen along the hairline. Draw a part that extends toward the back of the head. Extend the front of the part into a haircut that extends to the right. Extend the left side of the part into a line that extends toward the left. These lines should follow the curve of the face. At the end of the lines, draw a round shape that extends over the heads and connects the lines.

8. Color the woman's face with pens or markers. You can color only the hair to highlight your salon's hair coloring services.
