Gold teeth can easily be represented in a drawing by simply shading them darker than the other teeth.
Gold teeth are a form of dental prosthesis. Now rare, at one time gold teeth were a symbol of wealth. The most effective way to make a drawing of gold teeth -- particularly when using a gray-scale medium like graphite pencils -- is to contrast the gold teeth against the white teeth around it. The gold teeth will appear slightly darker, while the white teeth will appear to be mostly white.
Instructions
1. Draw the teeth in the mouth. Each tooth should be represented by an outline that has straight sides, a curve where the tooth attaches to the gums and a slight rounded edge at the opposite end.
2. Shade the teeth very lightly using a hard pencil -- 4H or harder. To shade, run the pencil back and forth lightly on the paper, applying only a little bit of pressure. The shading should be slightly darker for teeth closer to the back of the mouth.
3. Smooth the shading with a blending stick.
4. Shade the gold teeth so that they appear slightly darker than the white teeth. Use a hard pencil -- 3H or harder.
5. Smooth the gold teeth with a blending stick.
6. Erase a white spot on both gold teeth. This represents the glint of the light on the teeth. The glint of light should appear in the same relative position on all gold teeth.
