3. Break up with him in person. Don't use the computer, text messaging or the answering machine. Make time to see him and explain things in person. If it is short term relationship, meaning that you've only been on a few dates, the phone can be acceptable.
4. Don't use excuses. Most guys can tell your being phony. Just state your reasons plain and simple. If you really feel that your reasons for wanting to break up are just too brutal to say out loud, then be as honest as you can. Still, refrain from making up elaborate excuses and stories.
5. Keep it short and sweet. When you break up with a guy, hold back from giving an extended speech. Don't make is seem like you can be talked out of ending things. Just state your reasons, and aim to keep the entire conversation to under thirty minutes.
