Dental schools offer excellent care at reduced prices.
Dental care can be very expensive, but excellent care can be found at university dental schools that serve the public for reduced fees. The clinics provide a full range of services for adults and children and give students the opportunity to perform dental procedure under the supervision of faculty. Often, the faculty members are well-known specialists, so the level of care is high but the bill isn't.
UCLA School of Dentistry
The University of California at Los Angeles School of Dentistry provides specialty services and general dentistry to the public at two locations: Westwood Clinics and Venice Clinics. Services include cleaning, repair or replacement of damaged teeth, oral health treatment plans, inlays, crowns and bridges, dentures and emergency oral and maxillofacial surgery. Patients may choose from services provided by senior faculty, resident dentists or supervised student dentists. The fee schedule varies according to provider level. UCLA has cut back some services due to state budgetary constraints, so be sure to check with the clinic you want to use.
