Hand-held embroidery hoops are a useful tool for embroidery and cross-stitch projects. When you place your fabric into an embroidery hoop, the hoop holds your fabric taut to enable you to work neatly and carefully on your stitching. An embroidery hoop is generally round, with two separate pieces that work together to hold the fabric. Most embroidery hoops have a tightening screw on the outside hoop that allows the user to tighten and loosen the hoops that hold the fabric.
Instructions
1. Separate the two pieces of the hoop. You will notice that one hoop is slightly larger than the other hoop. The smaller hoop fits inside the larger hoop.
2. Place the smaller hoop onto a flat work surface. Place your fabric over the smaller hoop with the area that you want to stitch in the center of the hoop.
3. Set the larger hoop over the fabric and the smaller hoop and push the hoop down over both so it pulls the fabric taut.
4. Use your index finger and thumb to twist the screw to the right to tighten it. Stop tightening the screw when the fabric is taut and will not slip between the two hoops.
