Vinyl cutters are electronic machines that are similar in size and appearance to desktop printers. These cutters are used in crafting and T-shirt making. A length of vinyl material is inserted into the feeder and is cut to specifications. You can make many different designs this way. Like any electronic device, it is possible for problems to arise with the vinyl cutter.
Instructions
1. Check the blade in the machine. If the blade offset doesn't match with the offset in the machine, the cut will be crooked. You can adjust the tip of the blade to match the offset according to the directions in the user guide of your particular model of cutter.
2. Check the metal holder on the blade to ensure it isn't loose. A loose blade holder means the blade tip will become very shaky, resulting in an uneven cut. You can secure the blade holder to the blade to fix the problem.
3. Check the blade tip to ensure that it is sharp. If it is worn down and dull, the blade needs to be replaced.
4. Check the cutter protector underneath the blade. If the protector is scratched, the blade won't rotate smoothly. If the protector is scratched, you will need to replace it.
5. Check the ball bearings in the blade holder. Ensure that they are rotating properly during usage. If they aren't, the blade won't be functional at all and you will need to replace the bearings.
