Catch a big Broadway show for a small price.
Many visitors to New York City make seeing a Broadway show a part of their trip. However, the cost for the tickets to these shows can be expensive, especially for a large family. Discount tickets are nearly always available, either online or the day of the show. With a little planning and some flexibility, you can score tickets to the show you want to see for a fraction of the cost.
Instructions
1. Choose the show you want to see. If you're willing to be flexible in your show choice, you can choose the best-priced show of the ones you want to see.
2. Look for discount codes online. Several sites offer Broadway show discount codes, the biggest of which is Broadway Box. These discount codes allow you to choose the day and time of the show you want to see in advance, allowing you to have a set schedule when you set out on your vacation.
3. Join the Playbill Club at the Playbill website. Joining is free and you will receive access to discount tickets along with theater news. Be aware that joining the club signs you up for Playbill's daily email.
4. Wait until you are in New York and go to one of the discount ticket booths in the city. Tickets are usually available at these booths only on the day of the show for evening performances and the day before for matinees. Prices are good, but you may not be able to get the show you want, so be prepared to be flexible.
