The term "mobile home" was once used to describe a manufactured home that was built before 1976. Today, these types of structures are simply referred to as a "manufactured homes" in acknowledgment of the fact that they are built and assembled in a factory before transportation to the location where they will be set up for long-term residential use. While manufactured homes are generally cleaned and maintained in a way similar to brick-and-mortar or wooden homes, they do present a few special cleaning problems when they're new.
Instructions
1. Clean the windows of your manufactured home with a window spray designed for windshields. This will remove the factory residue from the glass. Use a lint-free cloth or old newspapers to clean the windows, since the roughness of paper towels may scratch.
2. Use WD-40 to clean sticky-tape residue (used to hold protective paper over newly installed floors) off of vinyl floors. Spray WD-40 and allow to stand for 5 minutes. Wipe the area dry with a clean, damp cloth. WD-40 may also be used on glue, which is sometimes found on vinyl near areas where carpet and the vinyl meet.
3. Read the owner's manual for specific information about your manufactured home. Components of your home, including walls, are often made out of fabricated materials that are quite different from regular construction materials. There may be important information, including warnings, about cleaning and maintaining your home noted in the manual.
