Is your friend's refrigerator running? You can let him know that he'd better go catch it using Internet services specializing in prank calling. These sites (sometimes for a small fee, sometimes at the cost of listening to an ad) let you make prank phone calls to your friend's cell or landline over an Internet connection.
Instructions
prank your friend online
1. Ask yourself: How cool are you and your friend? One caveat to prank calling someone is that prank calls can be a crime called phone harassment. So if you decide to prank someone, be sure it's a friend who likes a good laugh, not a teacher or co-worker you'd like to take out some aggression on.
2. Find a provider. There are plenty of prank call sites out there, including prankdial.com and prankdialer.com (those pranksters are so original with their naming!).
3. Earn tokens. Kind of like an arcade, you need to spend a token to make a call on one of these sites. You can buy tokens via credit card or PayPal. Or earn free tokens through filling out surveys or offers, by telling friends about the website on Twitter or Facebook or by signing up and participating on the site's forums.
4. Craft your oh-so-clever prank. As you do, consider two things. First, will the "victim" find it funny? (Hopefully, yes.) Second, would this constitute harassment? (Definitely, no.) Never include threats in your prank. It is not necessary to threaten someone to constitute harassment, but it certainly won't help your case if you get caught and your only defense is "it was all in good fun."
5. Create a MP3 file of your prank. This is easy enough to do on most computers that have a built-in microphone and basic recording software, but how you do it will depend on your programs and hardware. If you don't know, check the help section in your software.
6. Send your prank. Upload it to the site, following the on-screen instructions, and it's sent.
7. Check up on your "victim." See if they make mention and note their reaction. Then feel free to take credit. If they seemed at all upset, don't do it again. Once was enough.
