Un-install Microsoft Visual C++ 6 From Home windows Vista

Developers use Visual C++ to create applications.

Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0 is a development environment for creating applications using the C++ programming language. The redistributable package of the program is a free consumer software version required for Vista systems to run applications created by Microsoft Visual C++. It may be pre-installed on computers from some manufacturers, and some programs may automatically add the package to the computer during installation. The program uninstalls just like other Vista software applications.

Instructions

1. Open the Control Panel. Click on "Uninstall a Program" in Home view or "Programs and Features" in Classic view. Wait for the list to populate.

2. Click the "Views" drop-down menu; select either "List" or "Details." Click the "Name" column to organize the items alphabetically. Microsoft Visual C++ often installs incremental updates as different programs. Since you must uninstall each individually, this lets you quickly locate each version.

3. Scroll down and click to select "Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable 6.0" from the list. The name may have an incremental version suffix number, and there may be multiple items with that name. Click "Uninstall."

4. Click "Yes," and then select "Allow" to confirm. This requires administrative permission. Wait for Vista to finish the uninstallation process. Repeat the steps for any other Visual C++ 6.0 items.
