Natural talent is obviously a must, but if you have that great voice, there are some steps you can follow to strengthen your voice and improve the chances of getting yourself noticed. Start singing like American Idol Jordin Sparks in no time.
Instructions
1. Start young. Jordin Sparks started singing as young as 18 months old, completely skipping the baby talk stage. Among the first songs in her repertoire were "Jesus Loves Me" and the alphabet song. She began self-training the range for her voice with impersonations and doing silly accents.
2. Perform for any audience willing to listen. Move on from singing kids songs to harder more contemporary songs and start performing in front of people. Jordin entered children singing contests held Friday Nights at a local restaurant, Mr. Lucky's in her home town of Glendale, Arizona. J. David Sloan, former owner of Mr. Lucky's was known to say that Jordin was so natural, she never had to work for her talent.
3. Enjoy being on stage and in front of people. At 13, Sparks took the stage with an ensemble cast performing both The Wiz and Cinderella with the Phoenix's Valley Youth Theatre. She also performed in plays during High School. Sparks loves being on stage where she can be herself. She loves the faces of the audience and the sound of applause while performing.
4. Enter contests to get noticed. Jordan Sparks won the first round of NBC's America's Most Talented Kid at 15. Several months later, she earned two Gospel Music Association Academy awards and caught the ear of Christian singer Michael W. Smith. She began singing as one of his background singers. From there, she tried out for the ultimate singing contest American Idol, won, and is now working on her solo albums.
5. Choose music to sing that represents you. Spark's song choices reflect her genuine wholesomeness and sweet image.
