Your Yahoo Avatar is an animated image that you can create and customize to represent your current look, personality or interest. Your avatar is displayed throughout the Yahoo website, including Yahoo Messenger, Yahoo Answers, Yahoo Mail and Yahoo Groups. When customizing your Yahoo Avatar, choose from graphics such as hairstyle, clothing, accessories and backgrounds to represent yourself.
Instructions
1. Visit the Yahoo Avatars website (see Resources).
2. Select a gender and click "OK."
3. Click the "Appearance" tab and choose a skin color and face. Click the "Hairstyles" link under the "Appearance" heading and choose a hairstyle. View your avatar's changes in the "Previewing Changes" section on the left side of your screen.
4. Click the "Apparel" tab and select an outfit or top and bottoms. You can also choose plus-size clothing. Use the links under the "Apparel" heading to navigate between the different options.
5. Click the "Extras" tab to add any extras to your avatar. Extras include hats, bags, jewelry, eyewear and scarves. The "Extras" tab also includes special outfits and accessories such as pets and flags.
6. Click the "Background" tab to choose a background for your avatar.
7. Click the "Branded" tab to choose special branded outfits such as Pepsi, JCPenny, Yahoo and Star Wars.
8. Click the "Save Changes" tab in the "Previewing Changes" section to save your avatar.
9. Go to your Yahoo Mail inbox, where your new avatar appears automatically.
