Write A Science Fair Project Displayed Board

Write a Science Fair Project on Display Board

The display board for a science fair project needs to communicate the essential elements of the student's experiment. People who are viewing and judging the display board expect to be able to learn, from the things written on the display board, what the student did, what was found, and why this is important. Students should carefully write and design their display boards to clearly explain the science fair project.

Instructions

Write Sections of Science Fair Project

1. Write a title for your science fair project. Most often, the title of the project is the question that you were trying to answer with your project.

2. Write the background research section to explain what you found when you researched your topic before starting your science fair project.

3. Write your hypothesis, which is your educated guess about what results your science fair project would have. The hypothesis should be based on your background research.

4. Write the procedure section for your display board. The procedure should include a list of all the materials you used, the constants and variables for your experiment, and a step-by-step explanation of the process you carried out for your science fair project.

5. Make charts and graphs that show the results of your science fair project. You can do this in a word processing or spreadsheet program or draw them by hand on graph paper using a ruler and a thick marker.

6. Write a conclusion that tells what you found, whether or not your hypothesis was correct, what you would do differently next time, and what other questions people could investigate in future science fair projects.

7. Write any other sections that are required on your display board. These can include acknowledgments, bibliography, abstract and purpose.

Put Together Display Board

8. Increase the font size for all of your sections to at least 16 points so people can read them clearly. The exception is the title, which should be at least 100 points. Make sure that each section starts on a new page.

9. Print out all the sections of your science fair project on card stock. This thicker paper will be less likely to wrinkle as you glue it to your display board. Carefully cut off any extra paper at the bottom of each section.

10. Create a title for each of your sections. You can either do this by using a very large font on the computer or by using large sticker letters or a stencil and marker.

11. Glue each section of your science fair project to colored pieces of paper slightly larger than the white papers. This helps your sections to stand out against the display board.

12. Arrange the sections of your science fair project on your display board. The title of the project should be at the top, and the sections should be arranged in a logical order, starting on the left panel and working toward the right panel. Also include any relevant photographs or illustrations you have from your experiment.

13. One at a time, pick up a section, apply glue stick on its back, and then glue it back down onto the board in the location you had selected.
